Обычно, когда я не знаю, что делать — начинаю со всеми трепаться об этом. И — мое удивление — идея всем нравится. Ага, как же.

Через час и 4 обсужденных топика как на мороженном , упоминаю идею GGJ, дескать, как же так — нет в Москве, мировая движуха... Кадр третий Пару недель и много строк переписки спустя Женя пишет — поехали, встретимся с потенциальной площадкой.
Едем, встречаемся с IT Hub — генеральный директор Михаил Сумбатян, директор по маркетингу Кристина, Самвэл — гениальный организатор всякой движухи, который через два месяца топит лед и аудиторию в начале джема. Я перебиваю Женю, он — меня, рассказываем идею, почему классно, как сделать. Михаил спокойно замечает — давайте.

Январь — это месяц людей, которые нам помогают. Мы, конечно, работаем. Но главное — это «да», которое мы слышим от окружающих.
В общем, вы поняли. Время идет, и джем из идеи становится реальностью усилиями большого количества хороших людей. Мы нервничаем Товарищ из администрации IT Hub спорит с Женей Васильевым на бутылку виски, что у нас не будет и 50 участников.
Женя бравирует, что будет много народу, но мы пока не знаем... Мы неврничаем, но не поэтому. Мы не боимся, что придет слишком мало.
За несколько дней до джема приближаемся к цифре в 200 регистраций, при расчётной вместимости 160 человек. Обсуждаем: когда закрывать регистрацию. Просим доп.
Регистрацию оставляем, комнаты дают. Началось 16:30, пятница. Начало мероприятия.
Струйка участников постепенно превращается в поток. Участники спокойно занимают места в аудиториях, волонтеры спокойно делают свою работу, мы с Женей спокойно бегаем между ключевыми точками локации. Постепенно переходим к основному действу — движуха перед объявлением темы, народ собирается в главном холле.
Начинаем с айс-брейкеров в исполнении Самвэла Матиняна. Народ улыбается, ищет пары, задает друг другу вопросы — про гейм-дев и не очень. Гул, как на рынке, но только про геймдев.

In-person jamming allows people to learn body language, travel time management, reading the room, and other important communication skills.
This intense yet exhilarating period fosters an atmosphere of camaraderie and ingenuity, resulting in a multitude of fascinating games. Participants will unleash their creativity engage in networking, knowledge sharing, and skill-building exercises.

SLC Chapter Global Game Jam Report 2024 Utah — Salt Lake City 28 Jan 2024 Last weekend, gamers and creatives all over the world participated in the Global Game Jam, a distributed event where jammers get a theme at the beginning and then create a game prototype to showcase at the end of the jam, usually running over a single weekend. All told we had 30 jammers and 10 games made!
Each year a new theme is revealed, and teams from over 100 countries put their heads together to construct an idea that both fits the brief and is possible to deliver within the time limit. This year Norwich hosted over 80 jammers, making the University the 8th largest site in the UK, and the 93rd largest out of 797 sites worldwide. The goal of the Global Game Jam is to stimulate innovation, experimentation, and collaboration across games design and production.

Геймджемы сегодня происходят достаточно часто. Самые разные разработчики объединяют усилия, чтобы создать мобильные игру на определенную тему.
Это хороший способ набраться опыта и попробовать свои возможности в разработке. Что такое геймджем Game Jam — это собрание разработчиков с целью создания мобильной игры или нескольких игр за небольшой отрезок времени. В среднем, этот промежуток времени составляет от 24 до 72 часов.
В таких мероприятиях участвуют самые разные специалисты из области разработки игр. Это программисты, художники, геймдизайнеры и другие специалисты. Геймджем также можно назвать соревнованием по скоростному созданию мобильной игры.
Кстати, английское слово Jam взято из музыкального термина jam session. Это понятие можно растолковать как сбор музыкантов, которые импровизируют без предварительной подготовки. Целью сбора может создание новой музыкальной композиции.
То же самое можно сказать и о гейджемах — разработчики решают задачи в очень сжатые сроки и импровизируют без подготовки. Можно заметить сходство геймджемов со специализированными хакатонами. Такое явление как Game Jam становится все более популярным, к нему присоединяется большое количество разработчиков.
Как проходит Game Jam Местом для проведения подобных мероприятий чаще всего становятся конференц-залы, университеты или же другие частные помещения. Однако некоторые геймджемы проводятся в удаленном формате. Что касается ограничения по времени, то оно может быть разным.
Но чаще всего используется формат, который дает участникам ровно двое суток. Как правило, Game Jam проходит с определенной темой. Именно на эту тему и должны создавать игры участники.
Обычно тему анонсируют за короткое время до начала работы площадки.

However, one among them is up to no good and tries to sabotage the players by turning them into frogs and spoiling the recipes! It was a very close call between this game and the 2nd place. The idea of the game is to start out as a pine cone rolling around the map and collecting the seeds of the plants you come into contact with. When you decide you have enough, you choose a nice spot and go from a pine cone into tree-mode. At any point you can revert back into a pine cone and go rolling around to collect new seeds and to see what your companions have been up to. You can even have some competitive fun trying to reach hard-to-get-to places around the map with friends, overcoming the inherent difficulties of trying to finely control a rolling pine cone! The Honorable Mentions Of course, there were many other games that caught our attention, showed sparks of brilliance and deserve your attention. One of the players assumes the role of an operator trying to hack into a system, and two of his buddies play mobile code blocks in the role of either a Scout or a Brute. While the buddies explore the mysterious and dangerous maze of the computer system, the operator can oversee both of them and piece together the clues that they reveal. The operator has to then break passwords, solve puzzles and challenges using a command line interface, removing roadblocks for their buddies. The presentation is superb and the concept is novel. Community Garden Community Garden is a 3rd person tower defense game, where the players are working in co-op to protect the last few flowers from the onslaught of waves of tractors by erecting defenses. The gameplay was quite complex for a game jam game, making use of simulators very advanced for a game jam project! ANTS This is a deceptively simple multiplayer shooter where each player controls an ant that can shoot other ants in an ant-nest-like arena. Despite the rather barebones gameplay it is surprisingly fun and engaging, proving once more that classic game modes are classic for a reason.
