Key highlights included skateboard cases that would not look out of place in a Virgil Abloh collection, high-gloss trousers, and boxy menswear silhouettes. The addition of flight jackets steered Gucci into uncharted territories, featuring skirt designs adorned with exposed pockets and fiery red quilted underpinnings. The quintessential Gucci striped decor swayed from slip dresses, partnered with futuristic cuffed gloves.
The hybridisation inspires a study of deconstruction.
Detachable sleeves become accessories while zips enable trousers to expand in shape. The bomber jacket transmutes into an evening skirt, and the biker jacket elongates into a coat. Sculptural lines inform A-line dresses and diverse styles feature silk bands with bows, drawing inspiration from traditional local garments. Hyper-sensory biomorphic motifs by the South Korean artist Ram Han animate the collection.
A breeze cut through the hot summer evening. The soundtrack featured music by the South Korean composer Jung Jae-il, who scored the likes of Okja, Parasite and Squid Game: shining examples of the current global propagation of South Korean film and TV, which have made international audiences well-versed in the traits and idiosyncrasies of South Korean mentality. His debut collection will show in September. The team approached their destination show through the eyes of the global fashion community of the digital age, asking the question: what binds the contemporary city wardrobe together across continents and cultures?

The exhibition featured a collection of sensory and quasi-domestic environments inhabited with specifically commissioned artworks. The ten artists give an abstract and innovative take of the ageless Horsebit logo, whose methods range from applied to digital arts. Anna Franceschini, an Italian visual artist, curated a cabinet of curiosities containing relics from the Gucci archives. A bedroom space displayed a visually arresting image by American photographer Charlie Engman, which was accompanied by the historical artwork Bedroom Ensemble II by Swiss artist Sylvie Fleury.
