A dress with a fitted bodice and barrel skirt opens the collection, its classic shape slightly offset by trim pointy-toe flats. This and many other pieces were made of a semi-sheer silk linen organza, which lent a lightness to the feminine, structured silhouettes. For key collection prints, we were drawn to the lovely, unexpected colour combinations of abstract landscape colourists and mixed these with the more scientific mood of classic botanist art against clean white backdrops. We also explored the visual symmetry that is found in nature and looked to 3D naturalist sculptures for inspiration in creating detail, shape and movement.

Oh, and accessorising — I layer up with a lot of jewellery, which I find will always elevate any outfit and looks super elegant.

Rupert Bunny artworks provided by the National Gallery of Victoria. For Fall I was inspired by the artwork of Rupert Bunny, an Australian artist from the turn of the last century. I was drawn to his use of colour and the romanticism of his work — the gentle and dreamy lifestyle scenes.
